This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our browser extension. Our core principle is simple: we respect your privacy and do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.

Information Collection and Use

Fast Reader is designed to operate entirely locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, distribute, or sell your data.

• Website Content: To provide the RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) reading experience, the extension must temporarily access the text content of the webpages you choose to read. This text processing happens locally within your browser. None of the text you read or the URLs you visit are ever sent to our servers or any third parties.
• User Preferences: We use your browser's local storage to save your reading settings (such as Words Per Minute (WPM), font size, and visual themes). This data remains on your device (or is synced via your browser's built-in profile sync feature, depending on your browser settings) and is never accessible to us.

Permissions Explained

To function correctly, Fast Reader requires the following browser permissions:

• activeTab & Host Permissions (all urls): Required to extract the text from the current webpage so the RSVP reader can display it. This permission is only active when you explicitly trigger the extension (e.g., via the toolbar icon or context menu).
• contextMenus: Allows us to add a "Read with Fast Reader" option to your right-click menu for easy access.
• storage: Used exclusively to save your customized reading preferences locally.

Remote Code and Analytics

Fast Reader does not use any remote code, tracking scripts, or analytics software. All the code required for the extension to run is bundled directly within the extension package itself.
